ABOUT

Kashubi began from a simple love of herbs, flowers and the quiet moments that come with smoke, after dinner, in the forest, at a festival or during ritual.

Each blend has its own taste and character. Some are light and floral, others deep and grounding. Some fit best with a glass of wine, others belong in ceremony or stillness. All are crafted by hand with intention and respect for the plants.

All smokes are free from tobacco and nicotine.

FAQ

What does “Kashubi” mean?

The name Kashubi is connected to our founder Elisabet’s own heritage. It comes from the Kashubians, a distinct ethnic group from northern Poland in the region of Kashubia.

The Kashubians have their own distinct language, culture, and identity, separate from the broader Polish tradition. They are also known for their deep herbal knowledge and folk healing practices, rooted in a region where smoking herbs and flowers once belonged as much to medicine and ritual as to everyday life. The name is a tribute to both this cultural heritage and Elisabet’s own roots.

Is Kashubi legal?

Yes. Kashubi products are approved by the Swedish Public Health Agency and registered for sale within the EU. Our Botanical smokes are made from wild-grown, researched plants that are either organically cultivated by us or sourced from trusted small-scale growers. They are all legal plants and don’t contain any mind-affecting substances.

What ingredients does Kashubi Smokes contain?

Kashubi smokes are made from carefully balanced blends of organic herbs and flowers. They are completely free from tobacco, nicotine, and any mind-affecting substances.

Each blend is designed to offer a more intentional smoking ritual, focused on plants rather than stimulants or addictive ingredients.

Where are the smokes produced?

All Kashubi smokes are handcrafted in Södermanland, Sweden. Some herbs are gathered by hand in Swedish forests, while others come from small-scale local growers devoted to organic cultivation and care for the growing process.

Among the growers we collaborate with are Niklas Karlsson at Arkadien https://arkadien.co/ and Johan Nilsson at Möllan https://www.mollan.dk/.

Everything we use is organically grown, either from our own cultivation or from trusted small scale growers.

Is there an age limit to purchase Kashubi Smokes?

Legally, there is no age restriction for botanical smokes in Sweden, as the Kashubi Smokes are completely free from both tobacco and nicotine. This also means that retailers do not require a special license to sell the product.

Still, we have chosen to apply an 18+ age limit on our website. Although our blends contain no tobacco or nicotine, they are intended to be smoked and may be perceived in a similar way to traditional cigarettes.

Is Kashubi dangerous to smoke? Why is there a warning label on the packaging?

When any organic material is burned and inhaled, it produces carbon monoxide. For that reason, Kashubi products carry a warning label in accordance with regulations.

Botanical smokes do not contain tobacco or nicotine, and are therefore a non-nicotine alternative to traditional cigarettes. We believe they can be seen as a more gentle alternative to products made from heavily processed tobacco.

Kashubi products are approved by the Swedish Public Health Agency, though the effects of long-term heavy consumption have not yet been fully studied.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about our products or whether we’re able to ship to your country hello@kashubi.com.

Why should I smoke Kashubi?

Kashubi is created for those who want to quit tobacco and move away from nicotine, as well as for those who simply want to preserve the ritual of smoking in a reimagined form.

The smokes are free from both nicotine and tobacco, which offers an alternative that removes addiction while keeping the familiar experience and moment of pause that smoking can represent.
